Paddling Northern Wisconsin by Mike Svob is another must-have book for paddling in Wisconsin (Paddling Southern Wisconsin being the other). Paddlers will dogear page after page of paddling opportunities in northern Wisco.
What We Like:
Mike Svob explores the Northern half of Wisconsin with 85 trips on 28 rivers. Every trip is broken down with a description of the expertise level, put-ins and take-outs, what to take expect on the paddle, camping information and best of all, detailed maps.
The book is well organized and gives you basic paddling information (Class definitions, terminology, etc.) at the beginning. Then it breaks down rivers into manageable or accessible “trips” with mileage information.
The Final Word:
Paddling Northern Wisconsin is an indispensable resource for paddlers of all levels. It’s a must-have for Wisconsinites (and visitors of course!) who love to explore our rivers. When Miles Paddled needs to explore more territory, we’re heading north.
