Paddlepalooza: A River Alliance of Wisconsin Benefit

The Malt House Paddlepalooza 2017Hey all, we’re thrilled to be part of an event to benefit the River Alliance of Wisconsin being put on by Bill and the Malt House! Proceeds from sales of Restoration Cider will go directly to the Alliance. The environmentally friendly Alaskan Brewing Company will also be there. We, of course, will be there too! Timothy will be selling and signing his new guidebook, Canoeing & Kayaking South Central Wisconsin: 60 Paddling Adventures Within 60 Miles of Madison. We’ll have stickers to hand out and a few open ears to talk paddling against a backdrop of our paddling videos.

Hope you to see/meet you there!

MCBW Paddlepalooza: Benefit for River Alliance of Wisconsin

We’re teaming up with Restoration Cider, Alaskan Brewing Company, and Miles Paddled to raise awareness (and money) for the River Alliance of Wisconsin. River Alliance staff will be on hand to talk about the importance of our riverways to all of us. Please consider becoming a member, or donating, this evening.

Restoration Cider
Restoration Cider Co. is a small, veteran-owned business based in Madison, Wisconsin. They make complex, dry, refreshing cider. We’ll be pouring three of their draft ciders for this event — one pear cider and two apple ciders (one is well-aged and funky, we’re told). Proceeds from the aged and funky cider keg will be donated to the River Alliance. In addition, 5% of the profits at Restoration Cider Co. go directly to stream restoration projects.

Alaskan Brewing Company
Juneau Alaska, home of Alaskan Brewing Co, is located at the mouth of the Taku River and is surrounded by a paddlers’ paradise. Cans of Alaskan’s Icy Bay IPA are an environmentally sound choice for paddlers who enjoy an adult beverage, and we’ll be giving out free can koozies to purchasers of Icy Bay tonight, while supplies last.

Miles Paddled
Miles Paddled is a group of paddlers who chase rivers and creeks throughout (mostly Southern) Wisconsin, documenting the routes along the way. One group member, Timothy Bauer, will be on hand to sign copies of his new book “Canoeing & Kayaking South Central Wisconsin: 60 Paddling Adventures Within 60 Miles of Madison”.

River Alliance of Wisconsin
The mission of the River Alliance of Wisconsin is “to advocate for the protection, enhancement and restoration of Wisconsin’s rivers and watersheds. Our members are urban, rural and retired; anglers, paddlers and lovers of water and some depend on rivers to make a living. Together, our common interest is a shared passion for rivers and the inspiration they bring.”
